The Broadgate Estate falls within the Lake District National Park and comprises 550 acres of rolling farmland and Lakeland fells.  Throughout the estate traditional Lakeland farm buildings are scattered and a network of dry stone walls divide up the fields and fells grazed by generations of Herdwick sheep.

The surrounding area offers all that is best of the English countryside and country living. Wide sandy beaches line the coast from which climb the fells of Dunnerdale, carved through by the valley of the River Duddon. The small market town of Broughton-in-Furness has several excellent inns and restaurants and nearby Millom provides a range of other facilities, including a railway station.
